What is Graphic Design and why is it important?

Graphic design is a craft where professionals create visual content to communicate messages. It can best be described as the creative process that combines art and technology to communicate ideas and solve problems through the use of type and image.

Graphic design and branding are found in print materials, such as brochures, reports, and packaging as well as on-screen in web design and logo design.

Not only does good design help attract attention to your marketing materials and business, it can also enhance the quality of your message. To be blunt, bad design makes for bad marketing… and nobody wants that.

My name is Kathryn, and I am a freelance graphic designer and web developer. My whole life I have always been drawn to arts, crafts, technology and problem solving. Finding a way to combine them as a career is what lead me to joining the wonderful world of design.

I have been in the field of graphic design & web development for over 6 years and absolutely love it! I love collaborating with clients to make their ideas come to life. I have grown so much as a designer over these few years and have no intention of stopping now. With constant research on effective type-faces, colours and overall design trends, I strive to continuously challenge myself to improve my skills and provide the best work possible for my clients.
